John and Paula go on an adventure

Monsoon moments

Monsoon moments

So we are both back to work this week. The government schools are on vacation so we are spending a little more time in the private school KUHS. My grade 7s will perform our physical theatre piece next week before the end of term and there is still much "polishing" to be done. J went to the big smoke on Thursday to extend our tourist visas which was a relatively simple process, having done most of it on line before going to the office (unlike many of the other people in the building that day). So now we are legal 'til we leave.

I did quite a bit of Rotary stuff this weekend, visiting a school building that's to be re-built and watching an installation ceremony for the new year. I've also managed to fit in another couple of Rotary club visits so my flag collection is growing nicely.

Since we are trying to save, the rest of our time has been fairly conservative. Reading is our main pastime; books from the school library or cheap second-hands from Kathmandu. I accidentally broke my Kindle fairly early on so we have been sharing John's. I very kindly got send a crafting care package and so have been making poppies and doing cross-stitch which passes the time well with a podcast!

The photo is in Swet Ganesh school. Bijaya is in grade 8 class learning while she also holds her sleeping brother.
